Why Repair, Not Replace

Most Damage Doesn't Need a New Worktop

A chipped edge, a hairline crack, a dull patch or a stubborn stain can make a worktop look tired — but in most cases, it doesn't mean you need a full replacement. Professional repair and restoration can bring the surface back to a like-new finish at a fraction of the cost.

We repair, re-polish and reseal marble, granite, quartz and other natural stone surfaces, matching colour and finish so the repair blends seamlessly into the rest of the surface.

Our 5-Step Repair Process

From your first call to the final shine, here's exactly what happens when you book SMA Marble Ltd for a repair.

1
Free Inspection & Assessment

We visit your home to inspect the damage, talk through what's caused it, and give you an honest recommendation — repair or replace — along with a clear, no-obligation quote.

2
Detailed Damage Assessment

We take a close look at the chip, crack or stain to determine the right repair method, colour-match the filler or treatment, and confirm the expected finish before starting work.

3
Repair & Filling

Using colour-matched resin and precision tools, we fill chips and cracks, working carefully so the repair blends into the surrounding veining and colour.

4
Polishing & Restoration

Once repaired, we polish the area — and often the full surface — to restore an even, glossy finish that matches the rest of your worktop.

5
Sealing & Final Check

We finish with a fresh seal to protect the surface against future stains and moisture, then walk the repair with you to make sure you're completely happy with the result.

Common Questions

Repair & Maintenance FAQs

Can you repair a chip without replacing the whole worktop?

In most cases, yes — chips and cracks can be filled and colour-matched so the repair blends into the surrounding surface, without needing a full worktop replacement.

How long does a typical repair take?

Most chip, crack and re-polishing repairs are completed in a single visit, often within a few hours depending on the size and type of damage.

Will the repair be visible afterwards?

We colour-match every repair as closely as possible to your surface's existing tone and veining. While extremely close inspection may still reveal a repair was carried out, from normal viewing distance it should blend in well.

How often should I reseal my natural stone surfaces?

It depends on the material and how the surface is used, but many natural stone worktops benefit from resealing every 12–24 months. We can advise on the right schedule during your assessment.

Can you remove deep stains and etch marks?

Many stains and light etch marks can be significantly improved or removed through professional cleaning and polishing. Very deep or old damage may need a more involved restoration — we'll give you an honest assessment before starting any work.
